After a year of fighting hard to have the dangers of Coal Bed Methane (CBM) mining identified and dealt with, I find that not much progress has been made. This government continues to cover up the knowledge people’s drinking water has been contaminated by oil and gas activity in Alberta. It has been covered up for decades and it is time for a full and independent Commission to study the impacts of oil and gas activity on our groundwater, our true lifeblood.

I asked the Environment Minister some questions about this yesterday in the Legislature, which you can read (or listen to) below, along with a few articles that came out about the debate. Thanks to those who came and sat in the Legislature Gallery! It really helps get the message across to the government!

Please print off this pledge and send it to the Premier as a way of taking action on this issue.  Landoweners across Alberta will thank-you! Alberta Pledge

I thought I was a lone voice on this one David; suprise, surprise. Sure helps when Alberta media cooperate to kill stories and keep the masses in line.
When I was a kid (long ago) Alberta well water was all sweet. Then the oil/gas folks got at mother earth and long before CBM surfaced, our ground water became sulpher water. I doubt there’s a sweet glass of water left to protect in Alberta but good on you for trying.
