Just thought people might be interested in this article on water in Alberta called “Tapped Out” which was written by Niall McKenna for the AMA magazine Westworld. It does a great job of summing up the water situation in Alberta, from Dr. Schindler’s dire predictions to the failures of the Water for Life strategy. It also touches on the Rosenberg Report, which I’ve mentioned a few times, and the controversial Balzac water transfer as well as the competing water needs of a growing population, the agriculture industry and the oil and gas industry. All in all a good read!

And on the topic of our lifeblood, water, I’d like to thank everyone that joined me for the Bow River Clean Up on Sunday. It was a beautiful day, and it was wonderful to see so many people actively taking part in the stewardship of our most precious resource! Pictures are up on my flickr site!
