I hope that all Albertans will join me and my Alberta Liberal Caucus colleagues in celebrating the International Day of Older Persons. 

Seniors have played a tremendous role in building and maintaining our communities. While it is important to recognize the significant contributions seniors have made to Alberta, we must also acknowledge the many serious issues facing seniors today. This year’s theme for the International Day, ‘Towards a Society for All Ages,’ reminds us that issues such as age discrimination, abuse, neglect and violence against older persons need to not only be acknowledged, but acted upon.

The Alberta Liberal Caucus remains committed to protecting Alberta’s seniors. In the coming months, we will continue to call on the government for better healthcare and services for our seniors.
