The Darfur Challenge
1.4 million children are directly affected by the conflict in Darfur, which has lasted for almost five years. They are vulnerable to acute malnutrition, violence and recruitment by armed groups, and there are few educational opportunities available to them.
From March 17th to May 21st, Canadian students are raising awareness in their schools and communities about the issues affecting young people in Darfur. Students are welcome to register and participate any time before May 21st. They will compete with groups across the country to raise funds for War Child Canada's work providing resources to displaced children in Darfur, and for Save Darfur Canada's advocacy work. The top fundraisers will win exciting prizes!
To get started:
1. View and print the kit for participants;
2. Register for the campaign;
3. Print copies of the official campaign poster to post in your school and community, and;
4. Check out the Darfur Challenge website to find valuable information and resources.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the coordinator at Info@DarfurChallenge.org.
